John Butterworth Appointed to CQL Board of Directors

CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership is honored to welcome John Butterworth, Ph.D. to CQL’s Board of Directors. Butterworth is the Director of Employment Systems Change and Evaluation and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

“Among many areas of expertise, John is a renowned leader in issues related to employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says Mary Kay Rizzolo, President & CEO of CQL. “Outcomes involving employment are critical to quality of life, and we look forward to having John’s guidance on our board.”

Butterworth has 40 years of experience as a researcher, consultant, trainer, and manager of employment services. He manages projects on employment support and state systems change, including Access to Integrated Employment, a 30 year national data collection project on day and employment services and outcomes.

Butterworth also manages projects for the State Employment Leadership Network, a membership network of state developmental disability agencies committed to improving employment outcomes. Butterworth’s interests include state and federal policy, transition, organizational transformation, employment outcomes, natural supports, person-centered planning, and program management.
