The National Leadership Consortium To Become An Affiliate Of CQL

The National Leadership Consortium will become an affiliate of CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership effective January 3, 2022. This new alliance between the long-time industry partners is founded on shared principles and strategic directives to strengthen human services, including the quality of life for people with disabilities, the effectiveness of individualized supports, and the development of leadership skills among professionals in the field.

“Both of our organizations are dedicated to improving quality across the field, so this new affiliation is the perfect fit,” says Mary Kay Rizzolo, President and CEO of CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership. “The National Leadership Consortium is at the forefront of advancing the knowledge and skills of service sector leaders, and CQL is honored to be working with them more closely.”

The partnership will provide new opportunities for future collaboration between CQL and the National Leadership Consortium, through the development of practical guides, timely articles, impactful research, and engaging presentations. These tools, resources, and offerings will help improve the lives of people with disabilities and advance the expertise of leaders in human services.

“CQL has been a supporter and sponsor of the National Leadership Consortium for over a decade,” adds Trina Sieling, Board Chairperson of CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership. “This affiliation creates new avenues for increased partnership between the two organizations.”

The National Leadership Consortium will continue as a semi-autonomous organization independently focused on its own nationally-recognized intensive leadership institutes, leadership training, resource development, research initiatives, and community-building efforts among disability leaders.

“We know that we’ll be able to grow and be even more responsive to leaders in our field as an affiliate of CQL,” says Kristen Loomis, Co-Director of the National Leadership Consortium. “We are very excited about the opportunities that will open up in the new year.”

The National Leadership Consortium’s designation as an affiliate of CQL aligns with their previous association with the University of Delaware’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences.

“Our approaches to supporting leaders and organizations in our field are certainly complementary,” says Caitlin Bailey, Co-Director of the National Leadership Consortium. “We’ve long admired CQL’s approach to improving the lives of people with disabilities through measurement and evidence-based practices. We really believe that the collective knowledge, experience, and passion that both of our organizations bring will make a positive impact in the coming years.”

The National Leadership Consortium has strong relationships with national disability organizations, both its industry partners and Leadership Institute sponsors, that have provided generous support over the years.
