Remote supports are a hot topic in the disability services sector. Important questions are being raised about how remote supports are designed, implemented, and assessed. How can technology be effectively put in place to promote independence? What are the ethical considerations to explore? How can we ensure people receiving services are the decision-makers involving remote supports? When does technology start to become a rights restriction? What are the real-world implications in people’s lives?

In this free Q&A style webinar Remote Supports: ‘Ask The Expert’ with Envision Unlimited, you’ll receive guidance, tips, and insight from an agency that has successfully implemented remote supports. We’re welcoming Envision Unlimited’s Kristen Salkas (Director of Innovation), Tina Lowry (Director of Quality Assurance), and Jesse (person receiving services) to describe their journey, detail real-life experiences, and answer your questions. You can share your questions via the Zoom registration form or ask them during the live session.

CQL will be offering American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during this webinar. We will also be using Zoom’s built-in live transcription (closed captioning) feature. If you need any other reasonable accommodations, you can share those in the registration form. Any requests need to be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of the webinar.
